Abstract: With the intensification of the contradiction between economic and social development and resource environment, China is accelerating the improvement of building energy efficiency and environmental protection standards, bringing opportunities for the development of the domestic fresh air industry. The fresh air system is an independent air handling system composed of fresh air ventilators and pipeline accessories, mainly used for indoor air purification and ventilation. To promote the development of the fresh air industry, industry standards and regulatory systems are indispensable.
With the intensification of the contradiction between economic and social development and resource and environmental protection, the concept of "health, low-carbon, and environmental protection" has deeply penetrated people's hearts. Recently, at the first Sino German New Air Industry Summit Forum held in Hangzhou, experts stated that China is accelerating the improvement of building energy efficiency and environmental standards, bringing opportunities for the development of the domestic new air (also known as mechanical ventilation) industry.
According to the needs of national green development, China will significantly improve the energy-saving design standards for residential and public buildings during the 13th Five Year Plan period, "said Jin Jizong, Vice President of the Beijing Building Energy Conservation and Environmental Engineering Association.
Taking Beijing as an example, a mandatory energy-saving standard of 75% is currently being implemented for newly-built buildings, which puts higher requirements on building insulation and airtightness. However, in winter, people need to frequently open windows for ventilation, which inevitably increases the energy consumption of heating and air conditioning. Therefore, drawing on and promoting the new air technology of developed countries is an important issue to balance indoor air quality and reduce energy consumption.
The fresh air system is an independent air handling system composed of fresh air ventilators and pipeline accessories, mainly used for indoor air purification and ventilation. This system is a standard product for public places and residential homes in Germany. New construction and renovation projects must install this system in accordance with legal requirements, which not only saves energy but also improves the quality of the living environment.
The German government stipulates that if a tenant discovers that their property has mold due to a lack of ventilation, they can demand a 30% reduction in rent or file a lawsuit for compensation. Due to the widespread use of fresh air systems, Germany can reduce 19.2 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
Dai Zizhu, Chairman of the China Air Purification Industry Alliance, pointed out that there are three types of substances in indoor air that are harmful to human health. Among them, one of the most efficient ways to eliminate chemical molecules is to transfer them outdoors; Particulate matter, commonly known as PM2.5, can be reduced through filtration or high-voltage electrostatic discharge, but it is prone to secondary pollution; Bacteria are generally killed using traditional "light exposure methods", but they are not sufficient. Therefore, the key to solving indoor pollution problems is to use ventilation and purification equipment according to local conditions.
Despite the broad prospects, the development of the domestic fresh air industry has not been smooth sailing. Zhu Wei, Marketing Director of Shanghai Lanshe Air Technology Co., Ltd., stated that due to the nascent nature of the fresh air industry in China and the lack of unified standards, some construction and development companies often install the simplest exhaust fan and hype it as a "breathing house". Many fresh air companies exaggerate their advertising, resulting in mixed product quality and a lack of truly integrated key elements of fresh air technology.
The attending experts believe that in order to promote the development of the new air industry, industry standards and regulatory systems cannot be absent. The government should quickly introduce policies and regulations in relevant fields to guide the development of the industry. While raising environmental standards, appropriate subsidies should be provided to encourage high-quality enterprises with technology, reputation, and emphasis on quality to form new air industry associations or alliances, strengthen the promotion of new air technology and market supervision guidance, and promote the new air industry to become an important foothold of China's green strategy.
